Do NOT feel SMALL.

By on Jun 23, 2011 in 30TH FEB

Have you ever changed your dream? Have you ever stepped down from your ambition?
Have you ever started under-estimating yourself?

Do YOU feel SMALL?

I think it is our weak emotional quotient that makes us feel small. I would not say that it is self-esteem or self-confidence. That is always there to pull us back. But it is our weak emotions that allow others to make us feel small. It is our conscience which creates pressures. It is oneself – who allows such a feeling to dwell. It is more like looking at the sky and imagining that it has several stars and the moon but we can’t reach them and at times it even reaches to the stage that we feel like – we don’t deserve them.  Now, this feeling of thinking ourselves as non-deserving leads us to feeling small.
Eleanor Roosevelt said, – “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”

Why?

1.Do you have any other worries / life situations?

We need to in-retrospect is it that we are giving ourselves the reasons to feel small and inferior.  Are we allowing our worries to take over our mental peace and in turn loose our contentment?

2.Is it because you give undue attention even to the people who doesn’t matter?
You will always find people who have a tendency to act superior. People get a kick out of it or because they find peace in putting others in confusion when they are doing something with great effort.  Remember, there are people who

3.Are you ignoring your health?
Experts say a good diet & healthy lifestyle can actually help you curb your negative energies into positives. So be alert about your health. Even if things won’t change radically, a regular effort will surely fetch results. So eat healthy & work out regularly.
Things to do:
When I recently fought this feeling, I learned and thought to share.
1.  Take it Easy:
Life is not always the same. We need to be ready and focused. If situations get complicated, face them with focus.
2.  Smile Often:
Yes, this really works. And it works always. Smile whenever you get a chance.

3. Stay Calm:
Like we discussed, don’t let people and opinions disturb you. Take out the positives and act. In difficult situations – have a glass of water and take deep breaths. Relax.

4.  Count your Successes:
Yesterday only a good friend suggested, it is better that we remind ourselves of our little successes and achievements. It enhances our inner strength and boosts the self-confidence.

5.  Be Good. Be Gracious:
Many a times, one finds people unreasonable, situations unbearable, practices unethical – do not get deviated. Reject the thoughts which disturb your sanctity. Follow the path which is good for you. Forgive easily.

6.Love yourself:
It is important that we love ourselves, respect our work and feel important as we are destined to take up some important tasks in life. Like they say, ’The Purpose of life is life itself’. We shall not allow others to take us away from our path. We know what we are here for and we have to attain that.

7. Do not Compare:
Yes, I personally feel that this must be avoided. We need to understand that everybody is here with a different plan. We shall not compare ourselves with anyone.  We should always look up to people who have done and are still doing well in life. It is good to set targets, have goals but comparison kills. It defers performance. Keep faith in your efforts and you will excel.
Do not feel small. Remember, it is all a state of mind.
